What is my policy for Apartments :
Other than well documented needs for retirement or senior living units, I am not a proponent of stand alone apts. We have enough of those.
However, I am not opposed to considering a mixed use property that contains a mixture of businesses, single family homes, town homes and apts( as a minimal feature with limited bdrm capacity). Mixed uses are sort of a masterplan within itself that are designed for walkability, interconnecting streets, accessible use of pocket parks and businesses , and can afford the resident an opportunity to live, work and play within this environment.
This said, and as with any development, this City must plan carefully and be conscientious as to where a mixed use should go , how it will interact with or impact our existing infrastructure, our school system and other businesses. In other words, what will this landuse contribute to our economy and community.
Know that I will be vigilant in all matters of decision making that impact Mansfield Citizens!
